Late last year, Julie Bowen (Modern Family) revealed that she was working on a project titled Prom Pact for Disney+ alongside her producing partner Rachael Field. While she did tease that the lead character would be a feminist and that the film would be a love story reminiscent of Shakespeare, over the last few months details about the project have been scarce…until now.

Thanks to sources close to The DisInsider, not only can we confirm that Bowen and Field are still attached as producers on the project, but that the film has now found a director too.

Anya Adams, most known for her work on The Good Place and Black-ish will helm the project.

Additionally, we have learned that production is slated to begin late next month and last until the second week of April.

With such a brief window of production, and with Disney slowly stacking its streaming services with new and original content, it wouldn’t be surprising if the studio pushes for the project to be turned around by the end of the year. However, that is just pure speculation on our part.

With a little over a month before the film goes before cameras, we’re sure that there will be an official announcement, as well as casting updates, soon.
