DiscussingFilm has reported that Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts is in talks to direct an episode of a mystery Star Wars Disney+ show set to begin production in the summer. The production’s working title is Grammar Rodeo, and Jon Favreau will be executive producing. Favreau is also currently working on the third season of The Mandalorian (which is currently in production), and Ahsoka, which will start production fairly soon.

Watts will be directing one episode of Grammar Rodeo, which has been described by Cinelinx as being “Stranger Things in Space” and set during the High Republic Era. The story could then focus on Jedi padawans and their master during the days of the High Republic, which would potentially tie into The Acolyte, another Disney+ show set to begin production soon, which will take place during the end of the High Republic.
Watts has a pretty busy schedule, after the smashing success of Spider-Man: No Way Home last year, as he is set to direct Marvel Studios’ new Fantastic Four reboot, executive produce Final Destination 6, and direct an untitled Apple TV+ thriller starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney. He’s adding Grammar Rodeo to the mix, reportedly set to start filming this year, with production ending in December. Could it come out next year? I guess we’ll have to wait and see when Lucasfilm announces the series.
