If you thought Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ms. Marvel were the only two major series coming to Disney+ this Summer, you might be wrong. At least, according to series star (and professional antagonist) Giancarlo Esposito anyway.

In a recent interview promoting the final season of Better Call Saul on The Rich Eisen Show, the actor hinted that the highly anticipated third season of the hit Star Wars series is well on its way.

More specifically, he said, “You’ll get it soon. I’ve got a little few things to do in regard to that, to put some finishing touches on what I do. I believe it’ll be sometime this Summer, no date set yet, but coming soon.

Originally, it was believed that the series would hit the streamer late this year or early next, but it’s very possible that those plans could have changed.

Thanks to another series star, Carl Weathers, we know for sure that the season has wrapped filming. That means the series is most certainly in post-production and lines up with what Esposito means about things still needed to be done.

However, we also know that the Star Wars prequel series Andor is supposed to be coming out this year. So it really just depends on which story Disney and Lucasfilm wants out first. Because of Esposito’s involvement and the likelihood that he knows more than all of us, there is a good chance he could be right. As always though, we’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves.

Following extensive delays due to COVID-19, the highly anticipated third season finally began filming late last year. Due to his involvement shooting the HBO Max series The Last of Us, it was reported that a lot of production took place without star Pedro Pascal. However, he’s expected to complete his work via ADR during the post-production process.

Fans last saw Pascal’s Din Djarin appear in an extended arc during The Book of Boba Fett this past Winter. While it’s unclear what he’ll do next, we certainly know that he won’t be alone with Grogu back in his “custody”.

Details on the third season are being kept under wraps for now, but at the very least we know that we can expect some fun appearances by actors such as Christopher Lloyd and Jim O’Heir.
