Yesterday, it was announced that the next chapter of the Big Hero 6 franchise, BAYMAX!, would be hitting Disney+ next month.
Buried in the announcement, however, was the fact that Ryan Potter would be returning to voice the character Hiro Hamada.
Potter, who originally voiced the character in the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, last lended his voice to the character on the short-lived Big Hero 6: The Series. Since then, he’s gone on to nab the role of Beast Boy in HBO Max’s Titans.
Potter joins Scott Adsit, who returns as the voice of Baymax, as well as Maya Rudolph. She’ll reprise her role as Aunt Cass.
Now, it’s unclear how big of a role Hiro will have in the new series, but it is a pleasant surprise to see that he’s returning to the franchise. Hopefully this leaves the door open for him to continue to play the character if they ever decide to make a theatrical sequel to the original film.

Baymax! has the distinction of being the first television series to be produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Previous animated TV series based on Disney’s animated films have been produced by Disney Television Animation and other divisions.
The new series follows the titular lovable robot and his adventures outside the superhero team, working as a nurse around San Fransokyo.
