Marvel Studios upcoming Hawkeye spin-off Echo has wrapped filming. Series’ star Alaqua Cox took to Instagram to share the news.
Cox sent a text message to her late father, who sadly passed away last year. “We just wrapped up Echo! I did it dad!!” Cox continued with one more message. “I know you’re so proud of me, dad. I love and miss you so much.”
Streaming exclusively on Disney+ in 2023, the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward. Echo also stars Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer, and Graham Greene. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio return as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil and Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin respectively.
Episodes of the series are directed by Sydney Freeland (Navajo) and Catriona McKenzie (Gunaikurnai). Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre and Jason Gavin (Blackfeet).
