SEE IT: Leaked Merch Potentially Reveals First Look At Live-Action M.O.D.O.K In ‘Quantumania’

We’re five months away from Phase 5 of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe kicking off with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Like most projects produced by Marvel Studios, the project has been shrouded in a thick veil of secrecy…until now.

A new image of a shirt supposedly made as merchandise for the movie has been floating around the web for the last day or so and it contains what may be our very first look at the live-action version of the infamous Marvel villain M.O.D.O.K.

Now, the original source of the image is unclear, but comments from industry insiders such as KC Walsh seem to hint at its potential authenticity.

The character was confirmed to be making his live-action debut in the upcoming sequel this past July during Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

While no actor was announced to be playing the character, it is strongly believed to Corey Stoll could become a version of the character after being banished to the Quantum Realm as Yellowjacket in the first Ant-Man film.

For those who are unfamiliar with the character, M.O.D.O.K. stands for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. George Tarleton, the lead scientist for the organization AIM, became the mechanical monster after experimenting on himself in the pursuit of engineering “living computer”. His original code name was M.O.D.O.C, which stood for Mental Organism Designed Only for Computing; however, due to being driven mad by the experiments, he changed the Computing to Killing. Thus M.O.D.O.K was born.

Now, just to be clear, it has not been confirmed if George Tarleton will appear in the film. It seems much more likely that the movie will take a shortcut and just introduce the character in his final form.

Having previously directed the first two installments, now that Quantumania has wrapped filming, Reed is the second director to complete a trilogy set within the MCU after Jon Watts.

In the film, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will reprise their roles as the titular duo. Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer will also return as Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the characters who donned the outfits and alter egos first.

New to the cast is Kathryn Newton. She’ll be replacing Emma Fuhrmann as Cassie Lang a.k.a Stature in the films going forward. Fuhrmann portrayed the character in Avengers: Endgame.

Additionally, Jonathan Majors is expected to reprise his role as Kang the Conquerer. Originally, it was believed that he would be making his debut in the film, but that was before he appeared in Loki as the character under the pseudonym “He Who Remains”. Whether or not the version of the character we meet will be a variant or the actual version we’ve already met remains to be seen. Bill Murray is also set to appear in an undisclosed role.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania opens in theaters on February 17, 2023!
