Since being confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con, there’s been a surprising amount of secrecy surrounding Daredevil: Born Again. Even now, the only confirmed cast members returning are just Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. While we’re sure more casting news will surface in the coming weeks, a new report has provided us with some clarity about when exactly the series is set to finally shoot.
According to our friends over at The Illuminerdi, the series is slated to shoot on location in New York City beginning in February of next year. With the series expected to debut in 2024, it seemed rather obvious that the show would have to begin production next year but the fact that it’s happening so soon means that perhaps things are a bit further along in pre-production than the public is aware of.
Additionally, the site alleges that filming will take place thru December. That’s essentially the whole year. Considering that the series will consist of 18 episodes, it’s not all that surprising. However, it is worth noting that this is yet another production Marvel is actively choosing not to film in Georgia. That’s probably because an NYC-centric character like Daredevil needs to be in his own backyard.
Because the MCU is continuing to expand, you can’t help but wonder what the studio has planned for those 11 months and what special characters they’re planning on introducing – or re-introducing – in the final product.
While we still have to wait 2 years before the series debuts, the good thing is that fans can still rewatch the original 3 seasons of the character’s live-action series, as well as his soft rebooted self in the latest Marvel series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, right on Disney+ now.
