Lyric Ross Joins Marvel Studios’ ‘Ironheart’

Lyric Ross making the move from a hit television series to a Disney+ streaming series. According to The Hollywood Reporter. The This Is Us actress is the latest to join Marvel Studios’ Ironheart, joining Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos.

Ironheart follows Riri Williams (Thorne), a teenage engineering genius at MIT who builds a suit based on Tony Stark’s Iron Man and dons the superhero name Ironheart. The character was created in 2016 by writers Brian Michael Bendis, and artist Mike Deodato, and later redesigned by Eve Ewing and Kevin Libranda.

Ross will play Williams’ best friend. Ramos’ character is still being kept under wraps but is likely one of the series’ antagonists similar to how Jonathan Majors was introduced as Kang The Conquer in Loki, where he is expected to not only have a big role in this series but in future Marvel projects as well. Riri William is set to debut in the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which hits theaters in November, before appearing on the streaming series.

Officially announced last year during Disney’s investor day meeting Ironheart is set to kick off production this April in Chicago under the working title “Wise Guy”. Chinaka Hodge (Amazing Stories) will serve as the head writer on the six-episode first season.
