New Donald Duck Short Coming To Disney+

Just in time for his 90th birthday, Donald Duck is getting a brand new animated short. Titled “D.I.Y. Duck”, it launches on Disney+ Sunday June 9th 2024.

Donald Duck made his debut in 1934. D.I.Y. Duck is the character’s first animated short starring the character since 1961. The short was written and directed by Disney Legend Mark Henn. He’s famously known for drawing iconic Disney Princesses Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Giselle, and Tiana. Mark worked for Disney for over 40 years, first hired back in 1981. D.I.Y. Duck was Mark’s final project before retiring in December 2023.

Disney has previously released a new segment episode from their “How NOT To Draw” series on their YouTube channel, starring Donald Duck. where different variants of clash whilst celebrating his birthday.

This is one of many ways the Walt Disney Company are celebrating Donald Duck’s 90th birthday. In gaming, Disney Speedstorm is celebrating by rewarding players with a new racing suit and kart decals. At the Walt Disney Company Lot in Burbank, Donald Duck’s face has replaced Mickey Mouse. Everywhere from the Archives to the Theatre. On Good Morning America, new Donald Duck themed merch was revealed.

Two classic animated shorts staring Donald Duck will be released alongside D.I.Y. Duck. with a newly remastered look. The two short coming back are “Crazy Over Daisey” and “Out on A Limb”.

D.I.Y. Duck launches on Disney+ and Disney Animation’s YouTube Channel on June 9th 2024.
