Disney+ is Line did the rights to a new Cinderella musical series based on Roger and Hammerstein’s classic novel.
According to Deadline, Disney won the rights in a heated bidding war with Amazon. The musical will tell the classic story of Cinderella from the perspective of the fairy godparents.
Rachel Shukert (The Baby-Sitters Club) is writing, producing and showrunning the series. Additionally, Jennifer Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina for Nuyorican Productions; Sophia Dilley, EVP of Concord Originals and Co-President of RKO, and former Concord CEO, Scott Pascucci; and Bill Bost will also executive produce.
