‘Death Stranding’ Series In Development At Disney+

One of the most popular Playstation games of the last decade is about to become a major television series.

Death Stranding is getting the small screen treatment! And it’s coming to Disney+. The news was unveiled today at the Disney APAC showcase.

The game’s creator, the visionary Hideo Kojima will oversee production on the series, which will be titled Death Stranding Isolations. It will be created through hand-drawn animation.

The series will be directed by Takayuki Sano (Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods) and produced by E&H Production (Project Bullet/Bullet).

Set in the same world as the original video game, Death Stranding Isolations follows the protagonist Sam Bridges as he attempts to save America, and those trying to deal with their isolation in their own way.

The game’s plot revolves around Bridges, a courier tasked with delivering supplies in a post-apocalyptic United States and must survive interactions with strange destructive creatures and genocidal militia.

Norman Reedus plays Sam Bridges in the original video game, but it’s unclear if he or any of the other cast members will return for the show.

The series is slated to hit the streamer in 2027.
