Seth MacFarlane is adding another project to his already dominating animation lineup.
According to Deadline, Fox has given a 2-season order to the upcoming animated comedy Stewie, a new Family Guy spinoff centered around Stewie Griffin. Stewie is set to premiere during Fox’s 2027-2028 TV season, and will stream the day after its network release on Hulu and Disney+.
MacFarlane will return to voice Stewie for the series that follows the foul-mouthed toddler after getting the boot from his old preschool. Stewie is forced to enroll in a new one that’s not exactly top-of-the-line. It’s attended by a handful of kids he doesn’t know, and a 75-year-old class turtle with a half-cocked theory on just about every subject. Stewie’s miserable, the other kids are miserable, and even the turtle is miserable… until Stewie begins rolling out his trusty array of devices to take them anywhere in space and time, turning every boring day at school into an insane and surreal adventure.
The series is the second spinoff in the Family Guy universe following The Cleveland Show, which ran for 4 seasons from 2009-2013.
MacFarlane is a busy man with both Family Guy and American Dad ongoing. While yet to be greenlit, he has season 4 of The Orville written and ready to go. Additionally, he is also working on a Ted animated series that takes place after the events of Ted 2.
