Tim Burton’s Live Action DUMBO Begins Production!

Amongst the massive amounts of news about upcoming Disney projects from D23 Expo, we’ve learned that the live-action remake of Dumbo, directed by Tim Burton, has begun production, with a cast unveiled as well.

The cast is headed by Colin Farrel, with Eva Green and previous Burton collaborators Danny Devito and Michael Keaton. Farrel plays Holt, a widowed father of two children. Eva Green will pay Colette, a French trapeze artist who works for the film’s villain, a circus leader named Vandemere. Devito plays Medici, who runs a smaller circus that gets acquired by Vandemere. Although it’s unconfirmed, Keaton could play Vandemere, as he’s the largest name and that’s the largest role without anyone attached.

Production is currently taking place in London, with a release date just announced to be March 29, 2019. This will be the second live-action remake that Tim Burton has directed for Disney, after 2010’s Alice In Wonderland. The film is written by Ehren Kruger and produced by Justin Springer.
