Hugh Jackman Is NOT voicing Scar In THE LION KING Remake!

Reports circulated across websites that Hugh Jackman would be playing Scar in Disney’s live-action version of The Lion King before the D23 Expo. That is now being debunked by a representative of Jackman who told The Wrap that the report has “absolutely no truth.”

Omega Underground reported that Jackman had been cast in the role and cited someone close to the production of the film. Jackman did tweet this photo from Disneyland the day before, but no announcement has made anything official between Jackman and Disney.

James Earl Jones is set reprise his role as Mufasa, Donald Glover will voice Simba, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen will voice Timon and Pumba, and John Oliver as Zazu. The Lion King will be directed by Jon Favreau and hit theaters July 19, 2019.
