Beyoncé In Final Negotiations To Voice Nala In The LION KING Remake, And Produce The Film’s Soundtrack!
The Lion King news just keeps on coming today! It was reported back in March that Jon Favreau wanted to work with Beyoncé and have her voice Simba’s love interest Nala, now we have a huge update!
According to The Tracking Board, Beyoncé may be on the verge of closing a huge deal to voice Nala, as well as produce the film’s soundtrack in a fashion similar to Elton John’s soundtrack for the 1994 hit family film. The soundtrack is expected to feature original songs from Beyoncé in addition to classic hit songs from the original film.
The film just gained two new additions today including Captain America: Civil War actor John Kani as Rafiki and Alfre Woodard as Simba’s mother, Sarabi. Chiwetel Ejiofor was also revealed last week to be in negotiations to voice Simba’s villainous Uncle, Scar.
Rounding out cast of the film includes Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa, and John Oliver as Zazu. The movie is set to be released July 19, 2019.
