Disney/Pixar’s Incredibles hit theaters nearly 14 years ago, and dominated the box office earning $70 million on its opening weekend, while going on to gross over $650 million worldwide, and the sequel is now looking like it could top that.

Incredibles 2 has made an astounding $180 million on its opening making it the best domestic start ever for an animated movie, exceeding the $135 million launch of fellow Pixar film Finding Dory. It also scored the 8th highest opening of all-time. It will interesting to see if the film can reach $1 billion like Finding Dory did in 2016. However the film has tough competition next week as the highly anticipated Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hits theaters.

In “Incredibles 2,” Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.

Directed by Brad Bird, The Incredibles 2 stars Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, Samuel L. Jackson, Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Jonathan Banks, Sophia Bush, and Isabella Rossellini.

Incredibles 2 is in theaters now.
