Recently Variety reported that actress Kerri Russell is in early talks for a “action heavy” role for Star Wars Episode IX. Though as of right now it is unknown what character Russell will play for the next installment of the franchise, it is most likely she will play a key role in the film.
There are numerous “action heavy roles” Russell could play, all from the now non-canon Jedi wife of Luke Skywalker Mara Jade, to even possibly Rey’s mother, or possibly a new character all together.
Russell is most known for playing the lead character Felicity in the show Felicity.
