Turkish born actor, Numan Acar has been cast in Spider-Man: Far From Home in somewhat of a mystery role. According to Deadline, from what we know about Acar’s character is that his name is Dimitri and that’s about it. Now most comic fans will know classically Kraven the Hunter’s name is Sergei Kravenoff; though this could be a minor departure from the comics as Marvel has been known to do. An example of this being in Iron Man 3 when Aldritch Killian (Guy Pierce) was revealed to be the Mandarian, rather than the former being Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) as the Mandarian.
It also would not be that surprising if Acar does end up playing Kraven the Hunter. Prior to Black Panther being released director Ryan Coogler, originally wanted the film to feature Kraven the Hunter in some way. All this being said, it would also align with the future of Spider-Man films in the MCU in general; being that fellow co-star Jake Gyllenhaal is all but confirmed to play Mysterio in the film, and with Michael Keaton reprising his role as the Vulture in the sequel. So, if Acar does end up playing Kraven you have three out of six for a Sinister Six movie; which Sony has discussed being put into production multiple times, or even for the third installment to have the Sinister Six be the main villains.
Lastly, Acar has also recently been cast as the head guard Razul in the upcoming live action Aladdin (May 24th, 2019). Acar has certainly fallen under the Disney umbrella for sure, and this writer can not wait to see him in both productions next year!
Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to swing into theaters July 5th, 2019.
