Following the recent termination of Guardians of the Galaxy director; James Gunn, many fans have raised their dismay to the termination of Gunn from the production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Following offensive and distasteful jokes made by Gunn via Twitter, several years ago. Due to the nature of said Tweets, Disney decided to act and terminated their contract with Gunn and pulled him off the production team of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. This move was met with mixed responses, some applauding the firing of Gunn due to his distasteful tweets, others criticizing Disney for their quick reaction; stating that they were simply jokes, terrible and distasteful jokes, but just jokes.

Lately, actor Dave Bautista (Drax) has shared his own personal views on the firing of Gunn and Disney potentially scrapping Gunn’s script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Bautista had this to say, via twitter.

I will do what I’m legally obligated to do but without is not what I signed up for. GOTG w/o just isn’t GOTG. Its also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists . That’s just how I feel

Following all this, recently it has been rumored that Marvel is in talks to try and reinstate James Gunn as director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. As of right now, these are simply rumors and to be taken with a grain of salt. Though this writer has his own personal opinions regarding the matter, it would be a real treat to have James Gunn finish what he started on one final great Walkman filled note.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is set to hit theaters sometime in the year 2020.
