‘Moana’ Actor Jemaine Clement Joins The ‘Avatar’ Sequels

The Avatar sequels continue to build their cast. As it has now been announced Moana actor Jemaine Clement has joined the cast of Disney/Fox and James Cameron’s long-awaited sequels to the hit film.

Announced in a tweet on Wednesday, the actor will play Dr. Garvin, a marine biologist stationed on Pandora.

Clement joins a star-studded cast that includes Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel, Oona Chaplin, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald, and Sigourney Weaver. Cameron recently explained that Stephen Lang’s Colonel Miles Quaritch is coming back for all four sequels and will be the main villain throughout the story. Director James Cameron said, “I’ve loved Jemaine’s work for years and I’m really pumped that he’s joining our cast as Ian Garvin, one of my favorite characters.”

Disney recently pushed back the Avatar sequels. Avatar 2 is slated for release December 17, 2021. The third, fourth, and fifth installments hit theaters every other December after that.
