Lucasfilm Annouces ‘The Mandalorian’ Sneak Peek, Star Wars Pavillion At D23

Today, Lucasfilm announced that they will be hosting a pavilion on the show floor from August 23-25 with an impressive display showcasing the evolution of the Star Wars stormtrooper, as well as a sneak peek at the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

The sneak peek will take place during the streaming services first-ever panel n Friday, August 23, at 3:30 p.m. in Hall D23.

Dave Filoni, who has worked on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, will direct the first episode of the series. Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope’s Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones) will direct additional episodes.

Favreau is also executive producing the show, along with Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

The Mandalorian will debut when Disney+ launches on November 12, 2019.


Lucasfilm’s exhibit will include several of the screen-used costumes seen throughout the iconic movie series.
From the classic stormtrooper to the new design featured in the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, this stunning display is a rare opportunity to examine these production costumes up close and study the many unique styles deployed throughout a galaxy far, far away.

The Lucasfilm pavilion will also feature a special section for young Padawans that will include Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures video shorts along with multiple interactive activities for kids.

Single-day tickets for Friday and Sunday of D23 Expo 2019 are available for $89 for one-day adult admission and $69 for children ages 3-9. Gold Members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club can purchase tickets for $77 for one-day adult admission and $59 for children. Single-day Saturday tickets and three-day passes are sold out.
