Disney’s highly-anticipated streaming service is set to revolutionize the way fans absorb entertainment coming out of the House of Mouse.
What is Disney+?
The service will feature popular movies and series from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, along with an impressive slate of brand new original content. Lest we forget when Marvel blew all our minds at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con following the unveiling of what they have in store for the long-awaited streaming service…
Nearly the entire Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars catalogs will be available to stream on day one of the service, along with Disney’s Signature Collection and a selection of family hits like Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins. Disney+ is also set to feature a handful of family titles from its recently acquired Fox catalog, including The Sound of Music, Malcolm in the Middle and the first 30 seasons of The Simpsons.
Disney+ will also launch with 5,000 episodes of Disney Channel series and 100 Disney Channel Original Movies (hello, millennial nostalgia).
Basically, no one will ever leave their homes again.
Disney+: All will be revealed at D32 Expo
Those attending this year’s D23 Expo will be among those lucky few to experience the streaming service before anyone else. The showcase will be taking place on Friday, August 23 (at 3:30 p.m in Hall D23, for those attending).
During the preview, the House of Mouse will showcase the streaming service’s exciting slate of original films and series from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more. Yvette Nicole Brown (Lady and the Tramp, Elena of Avalor) will host this star-studded presentation packed with never-before-seen content, surprise guests, performances, and reveals, including a first-look at Lady and the Tramp, The Mandalorian, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series – and no doubt a fair few microphone drops.
