During the Disney Legends Ceremony at this year’s D23 Expo, Ming Na Wen was announced as one of the new inductees for the 2019 class of Disney Legends. She provided the voice of the fearless Mulan and was part of the cast of Marvel Studios’ television show Agents of S.H.I.E.LD.
When Bog Iger was introducing Na Wen to the stage, he also revealed that she will be a part of the cast of the upcoming Disney+ series The Mandalorian, which will be based on the Star Wars franchise. The new show is still under production and not much has been announced regarding the cast who will be led by director Jon Favreau. The news from Iger sparked an immensely positive reaction from the crowd who applauded and cheered when they found out Na Wen will now be a part of the Star Wars universe.
The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ when the streaming service becomes available on November 12th.
