Tom Holland speaks out about the week’s events at D23 Expo

Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland appeared on stage with his Onward co-star on day two of D23 in Anaheim, California, following a sticky week for his character Peter Parker (Spider-Man).

Fans were skeptical about Holland’s appearance at D23 after shocking news broke that Sony and Disney would no longer be producing future Spider-Man films, together (reportedly over financial disputes).

This decision came as a result of disputes and disagreements with money, leaving neither side happy and ultimately breaking the two companies apart.

Naturally, the internet wanted an answer to one question: What will happen to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man?

The divorce instantly sparked the hashtag #SaveSpiderMan on social media channels, with Disney fans tweeting in their hordes.

As things stand, no one can be sure of Holland’s or Spider-Man’s future… Although, our spidey sense is tingling slightly.

Although Holland did not officially address the divorce of Disney and Sony at D23, he did unofficially address the week’s events: “It’s so good to be at D23. It’s the best day of the year,” Holland said.

Addressing his Onward co-star Chris Pratt in front of the crowd, he said: “Last time we here, we were space buddies fighting on Titan. Now we’re elf buddies, fighting in L.A.,” said Holland.

Holland then said: “It’s been a crazy week, but I want you to know I am grateful from the bottom of my heart and I love you 3,000.”

As Holland left the stage, groups of fans could be heard chanting: “Save Spider-Man”.

HEARTS. SHATTERED. EVERYWHERE.

We love 3,000, too, Tom.
