The wait is over, Disney has found their Prince Eric. As Jonah Hauer-King (A Dog’s Way Home) has nabbed the coveted role opposite Halle Bailey who will play Ariel in Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid.
Hauer-King’s name surfaced a couple months back and was brought back for a second test on Saturday, and Disney seemed he was the best fit for their project at the end of the day.
Alan Menken (Aladdin) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Moana) will be remastering the music from the original film, while also adding brand new songs, which would also include one a new solo for Prince Eric… that’s what we hear that is.
