Doctor Aphra Rumored To Appear In a Disney+ Series
Lucasfilm’s first live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian is only three episodes and is proving to be a huge hit for Disney+. With a Cassian Andor and Obi-Wan series already in development and Disney CEO Bob Iger teasing other series are being discussed, and according to a new report one may be coming based on a popular comic.
According to Star Wars Unity, they have learned that Doctor Aphra could be making an appearance on the streamer. However it is not known if the character will have her own series or appear in a different series.

Based on the comic, Doctor Aphra focuses on the titular character, “rogue archaeologist” Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra, her droid duo, the “murderbots” Triple-Zero and Beetee-One (think of them as an evil R2-D2 and C3PO), Wookiee bounty hunter Black Krrsantan, and Vulaada Klam, Aphra’s side-kick later in the series.
The comic is set during the original trilogy, so the property would be a nice fit for the streamer with series taking place both pre and post the original trilogy. This could easily be Star Wars take on Indiana Jones, with cool takes on some familiar characters. Doctor Aphra at one point worked for Darth Vader, so it would be a cool way to bring the classic villain back as well.
