Yesterday’s Super Bowl offered our first looks at The Falcon and the Winter Solider, Wandavision, and Loki. However, there are still more series’ yet to come. The Illuminerdi has just reported that Ms. Marvel is looking to start production in August of this year, despite previous reports suggesting April.
The series will be apart of the second wave of Marvel shows coming to Disney+. It will appear next to Moon Knight and She-Hulk, which have all started pre-production.
No casting announcements have been made, but they should all be announced by this summer.
Hulu’s Four Weddings and a Funeral writer, Brisha K. Ali has signed on to be the series’ writer and showrunner.
“Ms. Marvel as a comic and heroine has existed since 1976, with the character Carol Danvers using the name for her crime-fighting escapades. Several other characters have briefly taken up the mantle, and Danvers herself became Captain Marvel in 2012.”
The series will focus on the shape-shifting Pakistani-American teenager Kamala Khan from New Jersey; however, there is no report yet of when the series will premiere. Hopefully, this leads to her own standalone film, or possibly appearance in the Captain Marvel sequel.
