’Ant-Man’ Director Peyton Reed To Reportedly Helm Episodes of ’The Mandalorian’ Season Two

Just a few days ago reports surfaced that high profile directors James Mangold (Logan) would direct portions of The Mandalorian season two. Sadly, those reports have been debunked by Mangold.

Fast forward to today, Murphy’s Multiverse has now reported that Ant-Man director Peyton Reed is set to direct episodes of the Disney+ Star Wars series. Also, detailed in the report, fellow MCU director Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) is set to return, but at this time it is unknown what Waititi’s role is whether it’s director, producer, star, etc.

The site does clarify that their source is usually accurate but hasn’t been able to get a second source to confirm. That said, I have personally known and have worked with the editor-in-chief and author who’s reporting this information and I can assure you if he heard something then it’s likely accurate.

Season two of The Mandalorian is currently in production with Jon Favreau returning as Showrunner and stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers (who will also direct some episodes), Giancarlo Esposito, and Emily Swallows all set to return. WWE superstar Sasha Banks has also joined the cast in a currently unknown role. There are also reports that Bryce Dallas Howard returning to direct some episodes but that has yet to be confirmed.

Season two of The Mandalorian will make its return to Disney+ this October. You can stream season one on Disney+ now.
