A couple months back reports surfaced that Ford V Ferrari director James Mangold and Robert Rodriguez (Alita: Battle Angel) had directed some of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Mangold later took to Twitter to debunk his involvement. However, Rodriguez was still was under question.
Well our friends over at HN Entertainment have officially confirmed that Rodriguez has indeed directed an undisclosed amount of episodes of the highly-anticipated second season of the live-action Star Wars series, set to debut on Disney+ this October.
Rodriquez joins a long list of talented directors on board to direct the series including newcomers star Carl Weathers and Peyton Reed (Ant-Man and the Wasp), as well as Dave Filoni (The Clone Wars), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), and Bryce Dallas Howard returning directors from season one. There are reports that series executive producer Jon Favreau (The Lion King) has all directed an episode of the series.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Rosario Dawson (Daredevil) had joined the second season cast as fan favorite Jedi, Ahsoka Tano, a character created by Filoni who appears in both The Clones Wars and Rebels. You can stream both series on Disney+ now.
Season two of The Mandalorian is currently in post-production with Jon Favreau returning as Showrunner and stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, and Emily Swallows all set to return. WWE superstar Sasha Banks has also joined the cast in a currently unknown role. We also expect the return of Baby Yoda aka “The Child.”
