Alan Menken Teases a King Triton and Scuttle Song For The Live-Action ‘The Little Mermaid’

Two weeks ago, Alan Menken shared the news that he and Lin-Manuel Miranda completed recording on the song for Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid, including four new songs for the project.

While speaking with Young Artists of America on YouTube, Menken shared additional information on the songs.

Menken confirmed that Javier Bardem (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), who plays King Triton and Awkwafina (Jumanji: The Next Level), who plays the diving bird Scuttle, actually sing in some of those songs. Now, obviously, both King Triton and Scuttle do not sing in the original animated film, so it is safe to assume they will be singing in one of the four new songs, the other tracks is expected to be new solos for Ariel (Halle Bailey) and Jonah Hauer King (Prince Eric), but that has yet to be confirmed.
