Variety has just reported that Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland is developing a new Star Wars series for Disney+.
The series is said to be centered around an all female cast, and will be an action-thriller with some martial arts elements, also it will take place during a different timeline in the universe. It will not be the rumored Ahsoka Tano series.

Headland is best know for her critically acclaimed Netflix series, Russian Doll which she serves as showrunner, executive producer, writer, director and series creator. She also previously directed Sleeping with Other People starring Allison Brie and Jason Sudeikis as well as Bachelorette starring Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan, James Marsden and Rebel Wilson.
According to the trade, Headlands reps and reps for Disney refused to comment.
