First Set Video From ‘Shang-Chi’ Surfaces Online

Before the pandemic, many Marvel projects got productions going and some were about to wrap up filming. Unfortunately for Shang-Chi, filming had barely begun before Marvel shut it down.

Today, leaked set footage from Shang-Chi popped up on twitter and it features a night time scene with Awkwafina and Simu Liu. There’s no further information given, however, this is something to get us through this long movie drought.

Production, which will film under the working title Steamboat, will continue to shoot in Australian at Fox Studios (now owned by Disney) with some scenes to also be shot in San Fransisco.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Just Mercy), the film is set to star newcomer Simu Liu as the titular hero, popular Chinese actor Tony Leung (Infernal Affairs) playing the main villain, the Mandarin, Awkwafina (Jumanji: The Next Level, Crazy Rich Asians), Michelle Yeoh, and Rosalind Chao all roles are currently unknown at this time.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings will be in theaters on May 7, 2021.
