During the panel, creator Loren Bouchard discussed the future of the series, including the highly anticipated movie Bob’s Burgers: The Movie. Originally due to be released on July 17, 2020 by 20th Century Fox, the planned release was later moved to April 9, 2021. However, earlier this year, the film was removed from the release calendar altogether with no new date put in place. Today’s panel has confirmed that a new date for the film is still forthcoming.

Bouchard had this to say on the matter:

“We still don’t have a date but I do, of course, want to tell the fans, we’re working on it. My every waking moment is spent on the movie and it’s coming. They have to put it out. We’re going to be in theaters – that’s my pledge. I think really soon, we’re going to start releasing trailers, art, clips, all the little things that are such a pleasure for us to release into the world.”

In addition to the feature film, Bouchard revealed that a short film was created before the pandemic. Titled My Butt Has a Fever, it is also intended to be released theatrically at some point.

Bob’s Burgers: The Movie is written and directed by Loren Bouchard and features the main voice cast from the series, including H. Jon Benjamin as Bob, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, Kristen Schaal, and Larry Murphy. This will be one of the final projects from animator Dale Baer, who passed away earlier this year.
