David Dastmalchian and Others to Join Hulu and 20th Century’s ‘The Boogeyman’

Deadline has reported that Ant-Man star David Dastmalchian will be joining an adaptation of Stephen King’s short story The Boogeyman, for 20th Century Studios, set to release on Hulu and Disney+ in 2023. Additionally, he will also be joined by Marin Ireland, Vivien Lyra Blair, and Madison Hu, with Chris Messina and Sophie Thatcher already signed on.

The movie has already begun production and is directed by Host filmmaker Rob Savage. The director received international fame when Host premiered on Shudder, and his latest movie, DASHCAM, is set to release this year by Momentum Pictures after premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie’s script was written by Mark Heyman.

No release date has been announced, other than 2023 on Disney’s streaming services, but it should be announced when production will wrap up. It’s quite interesting to see Dastmalchian join a Boogeyman-related project, especially after his character Kurt in Ant-Man and the Wasp joked about The Boogeyman frequently…and now the actor is starring in a film about The Boogeyman. Oh, the coincidence.
