The details are starting to stack up as the premiere of the long-anticipated Disney+ Star Wars series draws near

A bunch of you will yell, “Well, duh!”

And, hey, I might be among that number.

But, in the wake of a Michelle Rejwan interview with GamesRadar/SFX Magazine, we have more of a clue as to middle-aged Ben’s mental state as we begin the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+.

“[We find him in] a pretty traumatic moment, where he’s lost so much, where he’s been hiding, where his apprentice and brother, Anakin, has gone to the Dark Side, and he’s been living with that for a decade,” the producer told Richard Edwards and Jack Shepherd about the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. “We’re really finding him in a place where he’s quite lost, and Ewan [McGregor] was a major part of that conversation.”

A Great Experience

Meanwhile, Speaking to Forbes in February, McGregor told Jeff Conway, “It was a great experience. Deborah Chow directed all the episodes, and she’s really good.

“The [Obi-Wan Kenobi series] writers and Deb and I and everyone, I think we crafted or they crafted a very fine storyline,” he added. “I think people are going to like it.”

Moreover, it might be a bit of a sad slog, at least to start.

“He’s living with how things were left with Anakin on Mustafar, leaving him to die in an incredibly tragic way,” explained Rejwan to SFX. “He’s been living with quite a bit of guilt and reflection over this period.”

Finally, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series debuts with two episodes, both premiering on May 27.
