Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is officially another hit for Marvel Studios. The action/horror grossed $185 million at the domestic box office this weekend, landing it as one of the biggest openings of all-time.
The opening is the 11th biggest domestically in box office history and 7th biggest opening for any Marvel Cinematic title behind Avengers: Age of Ultron ($191.3 million), Black Panther ($202 million), The Avengers ($207.3 million), Avengers: Infinity War ($257.7 million), Spider-Man: No Way Home ($260.1 million) and Avengers: Endgame ($357.1 million). Multiverse of Madness is already the second biggest release of 2022.
Additionally, overseas the film grossed $265 million, bringing its worldwide box office total to $450 million.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. Not to mention, the film is loaded with fun appearances, which we still will not spoil.
The film is directed by Sam Raimi (original Spider-Man trilogy), and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll, Scott Derrickson, and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron, who is coming off the hit Disney+ series, Loki, now streaming on Disney+. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now in theaters.
