And so it begins! The annual Star Wars celebration has finally kicked off in Anaheim, and it opened with some major news.
Despite no major news in the past few months, the highly anticipated Star Wars prequel series Andor is still coming this year. However, when it drops, it’ll be much more distinguishable from any other Disney+ original that’s been released so far.
The series’ first season will not consist of 6 or 8 or even 10 episodes, but 12. That’s sure to please those upset at the pacing problems the shorter seasons have yielded for Disney+ series so far – myself included.
Additionally, the series’ showrunner Tony Gilroy confirmed that a 12-episode second season was already in development AND that it was expected to begin this November! This lines up with a previous rumor we reported.
That’s not all. Despite other, previous rumors suggesting the series would have upwards of 3-5 seasons, the series will end with season 2. More specifically, Gilroy suggested that the second season would end right where Rogue One picks up.
This is a developing story…more will be added later.
