More BS? Sony’s Latest Spider-Verse Film Is Coming Back To Theaters

It’s Morbin’ time…again.

In an unlikely turn of events, Morbius is coming back to theaters this weekend. In fact, it’ll be returning to 1,000 select theaters across this US starting Friday, June 3rd. Comicbook.com confirmed the booking earlier today.

Although the film was released on digital last month – and is slated to get a physical release on June 14th – Sony is apparently still confident in the film following its recent social media campaign. The campaign involved the company relishing the fact that the film was being memed and made fun of.

While no official sequel has been green-lit, if the film continues to gain traction (positive or negative) an announcement is imminent.

Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?

Directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House), the film stars Leto (Suicide Squad), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Adria Arjona (Andor), Jared Harris (Sherlock Holmes), Tyrese Gibson (Fast and Furious franchise), and Michael Keaton (Spider-Man: Homecoming).
