More Details Emerge About The New ‘Winnie The Pooh’ Horror Movie

Last week, we covered a story about a new horror film based on one of Disney’s most beloved characters Winnie the Pooh. Because the characters are now public domain, Disney has nothing to do with the film, but that hasn’t stopped the company’s adult fans from being interested in how it’ll turn out.

Now earlier this week, the film’s director Rhys Frake-Waterfield spoke to Dread Central and divulged a few more interesting (and graphic) details about the upcoming film.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING DETAILS ARE (AND I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH) GRAPHIC

Frake-Waterfield explained that the film starts with Pooh and Piglet both leaning into their animalistic sides as Christopher Robin grows older and slowly forgets about them. This sets off a chain of events which begins with the two characters eating Eeyore. Slowly their hunger grows but their “rampage” truly begins when a much older Christopher Robin returns to visit his old friends with some unexpected guests.

The full quote is below:

“Pooh and Piglet experience a drastic drop in food as Christopher grew up. Over the years they became increasingly hungry and feral. They had to resort to eating Eeyore. Then Christopher returns with his wife to introduce her to his old friends. And when that happens, they get enraged when they see them. All of the hatred they’ve built up over the years unleashes and then they go on this rampage. That continues when they end up at this rural house with these girls.

Now, this answers the question we previously posed about whether or not the characters would appear as anthropomorphic creatures of killers in masks. The answer is clearly the former. It also provides a very vivid picture of how gruesome the film will be.

It’s still unclear if any of the other beloved characters will appear such as Tigger or Rabbit, but with the film slated to come out later this year – hopefully in time for Halloween, we’re sure to get those answers soon. We’ll be sure to keep you updated every step of the way!
