Variety is reporting that Shang-Chi and Iron Man 3 star Ben Kingsley will reprise his role as struggling actor Trevor Slattery.
Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man was confirmed to be in the works back in June and Shang-Chi‘s Destin Daniel Cretton will executively produce the series and potentially direct a few episodes, while Community and Brooklyn Nine-Nine scribe Andrew Guest will tackle the script.

As hinted at earlier, this won’t technically be Wonder Man’s first planned appearance in the series. Originally James Gunn planned to have Nathan Fillion cameo as the character in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
For those unfamiliar with the character, his real name is Simon Williams. While he was originally conceived as a villain in the 1960s, he was later reimagined as a hero and went on to be a founding member and key leader of the West Coast Avengers.
Unlike most of the characters in the MCU, Williams does not have any superpowers. Rather, he relies on his swift intellect and combat skills to fight crime. His experience as a former actor and stuntman also helps whenever he needs to go undercover for a mission.
There have been additional rumors that Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins) could be in the running to play the character. While he is a pretty good actor, personally I don’t think he’s that big of a star (yet). Marvel might feel differently, but truthfully at this point, they can get anyone for anything. So it’ll be really interesting to see who ultimately ends up with the role.
As always, because this info has not necessarily been confirmed by a major trade or Marvel Studios, we urge you to take it with a grain of salt.
