Disney Confirms Principal Cast of ‘The Little Mermaid’

The Little Mermaid’s teaser trailer was revealed during the Disney and Pixar panel at D23, and it has soared across the internet and received massive acclaim from excited movie-goers. Disney has officially confirmed the principal cast members and who they’ll be playing.

We have the already confirmed Halle Bailey as Ariel; Jonah Haur-King as Prince Eric; Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian; Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder; Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle; Javier Bardem as King Triton and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.

Last summer, Noma Dumezweni (“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”) was spotted filming alongside Haur-King, confirming her presence in the movie, and now we know that she’ll be playing Queen Selina, an original character written for the film. Art Malik (“Homeland”) has also been confirmed to be playing Sir Grimsby, Prince Eric’s faithful guardian and advisor.

The Little Mermaid will be released in cinemas on May 23rd, 2023.
