SEE IT: Leaked Funko Pop Reveals The Next Black Panther

September 26, 2022Dempsey Pillot

We’re still a little over a month away from the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. While Marvel Studios has (understandably) been hard at work trying to keep the identity of the next Black Panther under wraps, a new leak may have just given fans a major hint as to who will inherit the mantle.

Earlier today an account by the name of dis.trackers posted a photo of a new Funko Pop figure being released alongside the film.

While the initial photo was blurry, images in much better quality began making waves around the web courtesy of accounts such as BRMarvelNews.

Although the photo only lists the character as Black Panther, with no actual hint in the name of who’s underneath the mask, both the physique of the figure and the design offer a massive hint as to who will don the suit in the upcoming film.

As you may be able to tell for yourself, the suit’s design appears a bit more feminine. But the dots around the eyes and the fangs at the bottom of the mask are obvious callbacks to what Shuri has worn in the first Black Panther film and Avengers: Endgame.

Don’t believe us? See for yourself down below!

Does this mean that Shuri is indeed the next Black Panther? Not exactly. While most have speculated she will take up the mantle – and she is literally the next in line to inherit the crown – we won’t know for sure until the film comes out. So we’ll just have to wait and see.

In Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livanalli.

The film is set to hit theaters on November 11, 2022.
