Sony’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) proves to be one of the most outstanding animated films in history, but did you know that a 14-Year-Old helped animate one of the most memorable scenes?
LEGO Peter Parker shocked every Marvel fan watching Miles Morales’ next chapter unfold, especially with the perfect callback to The LEGO Movie (2014).
Now, on the heels of worldwide box office dominance, executive producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller reveal that Preston Mutanga, a Toronto-based teenager, crafted the now iconic LEGO Spider-Man scene:
“We found out that it was a 14-year-old kid who made it and we were like, ‘This looks incredibly sophisticated for a nonadult, nonprofessional to have made,” Miller shares to The New York Times. “It blew us all away, including some of the best animators in the world.”
After creating a shot-for-shot LEGO remake of the Across the Spider-Verse official trailer and shared his work to YouTube, Mutanga became a sensation for fans and artists alike.
