‘The Mandalorian’ & ‘Toy Story 4’ Actor Carl Weathers Passes Away

It’s a sad day for the world of cinema as longtime actor Carl Weathers has passed away at the age of 76.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers. He died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 1st, 2024. Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life. Through his contributions to film, television, the arts and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognized worldwide and across generations. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner, and friend.”

He is best known for portraying Apollo Creed in the Rocky film series, Al Dillion in the 1987 sci-fi action film Predator, Chubbs Peterson in the 1996 sports comedy film Happy Gilmore, a role he reprised in the 2000 fantasy comedy film Little Nicky.

For Disney, he voiced Combat Carl and Combat Carl Jr. in Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story of Terror! and Toy Story 4. He also voiced Omnitraxus Prime in the Disney XD animated series Star vs. the Forces of Evil. He last played Greef Karga in the Star Wars Disney+ series The Mandalorian.
