Taylor Swift’s world domination continues as the superstar is back in business with Disney.
During the latest earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Iger disclosed that Taylor Swift’s blockbuster hit, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie, will make its debut on Disney+ on March 15. This announcement coincides with the commencement of the 2024 leg of Swift’s Eras Tour, which kicks off with three nights of performances at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.
While an extended version of The Eras Tour has been available for rent on other streaming platforms for over a month, Disney+ will serve as the exclusive online platform for the concert film directed by Sam Wrench. This rendition, dubbed Taylor’s Version of the Eras Tour, will feature five additional songs not included in the theatrical release or digital edition. Although the specific list of these new songs for the Disney+ Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) film is not yet disclosed, fans can anticipate the inclusion of the fan-favorite ‘Cardigan’.
In November 2020, the streamer released Swift’s Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, where Swift performs all of the 17 tracks of her eighth studio album, Folklore (2020), whilst discussing the creative process behind the songs with her collaborators Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff. Swift made her debut as a film director with the documentary.
