If you play “Marvel Contest Of Champions,” then you know that there are arguably too many Spider-Verse characters to play as. But next month, the list is going to get a little bit longer.

This April, both Spider-Punk and The Prowler will join The Contest. The announcement was made today via the game’s official Instagram account:

Now, details about the monthly event that will introduce the characters are scarce but players can expect the event to begin – and for the characters to official debut next week!

We’ll be covering the update, so be sure to follow The DisInsider for more info in the coming days!

READ:

While Prowler first made his big screen debut in Sony’s 2018 smash-hit Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Punk debuted last year in the sequel Across the Spider-Verse.

While the most popular version of the character – and the one portrayed in films – has been Miles Morales’ uncle, Aaron Davis, the text from the Instagram post implies that the version entering the game will be the original one: Hobie Brown. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because that’s also the identity of Spider-Punk. This is the first time The Contest has brought aboard two different characters with the same identity, so we’re eager to how they do it and what exactly it’ll mean for the overarching storyline.

In the mobile game “Marvel Contest of Champions,” you’re recruited to fight alongside your favorite Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains in the ultimate cosmic showdown! Assemble the ultimate team, fight other players in real time, and complete numerous quests to become the universe’s ultimate champion.
