Sigourney Weaver is no stranger to space. Having starred in the Alien and Avatar franchises, she’ll now be setting her sights on an arguably even bigger (Disney-owned) series: Star Wars.
According to multiple reports, the Academy Award-nominated actress has joined the case of the upcoming Star Wars film The Mandalorian and Grogu.
She is the first cast member to join the film, aside from Pascal’s titular bounty hunter. However, it’s not entirely clear who she’ll play.
Jon Favreau, who executively produced and helped create the series which the film will build off of, is slated to direct.
The film is set to be the first theatrical Star Wars project since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, and is scheduled to hit theaters next year!
The InSneider newsletter was first to report Weaver’s involvement.
