‘Monsters Inc.’ Star Steve Buscemi Attacked In New York City

A publicist for actor Steve Buscemi says he is doing “okay” after being punched in New York City last week.

The actor was reportedly assaulted Wednesday evening. In a random act of violence, the Emmy-winning actor, known for roles in Pixar’s Monsters Inc. and Monsters University, was punched in the face.

The 66-year-old was immediately taken to a nearby hospital with bruising, swelling and bleeding to his left eye.

“Steve Buscemi was assaulted in Mid-Town Manhattan, another victim of a random act of violence in the city,” according to a statement Sunday from his publicist. “He is ok and appreciates everyone’s well wishes.”

The assault was first reported by the New York Post.
