After first being announced last year, today the world got an update about the latest series from Marvel Animation, Eyes of Wakanda.
During Marvel Animation’s showcase at D23, it was revealed that the series is being developed by Todd Harris, a storyboard artist for many of the films in the MCU.
The series will only consist of 4 episodes, and is being described as an event series, much like Marvel Zombies. So there won’t be any future seasons – at least for now anyway.
Lastly, because the series will cover Wakanda’s history, it was revealed that someone donning the mantle of Iron Fist would appear. Because of the show’s promised focus on the past, it does not seem likely that we will see Danny Rand’s iteration of the character.
So far, there’s no release date, but it was on the last slate Disney released for this year.
The official plot synopsis is as follows:
“Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story.”
