Queue up with your duo and hop into the battle bus, Marvel is returning to Fortnite in Chapter 5 – Season 4. The announcement came during Disney’s huge D23 convention in early August 2024.
Epic Games announced multiple new collaborations with Disney during D23. They include new themed skins for The Incredibles, and A Disney Villain’s pack. Before the convention took place, Fortnite had wrapped up its Pirates of the Caribbean collaborative event. But it was the new Chapter 5 – Season 4 announcement that got Marvel Fans and Fortnite players alike excited.
Following the ending of last season, Doctor Doom has stolen Megla-Don’s nitro and the mystical powers within Pandora’s Box. Team up with Jonesy as he embraces his inner Captain America and forms a team of familiar Marvel characters. Work together to save the island from Doom’s plans.
New Cosmetics
Players who purchase the battle pass can earn new themed rewards throughout the season. New original character skins include “Captain America” Jonesy and “Peelverine”, Fortnite’s beloved banana mascot donning Wolverine’s iconic suit. A Sabertooth style for Meowsucles will also be available in the Fortnite item shop.
The teaser trailer also revealed iconic Marvel characters making their Fortnite debut. War Machine, GwenPool, Shuri as Blank Panther, Emma Frost, Mysterio, and Doctor Doom will be available to collect in the battle pass. Other Marvel characters including Scott Summers and the X-Men, (new and returning) will be made available for purchase in the Fortnite item shop throughout the season’s duration.
New Gameplay Mechanics
With the launch of the new season, new weapons will be added into the game, including new mythics. This season introduces Captain America’s Shield, Black Panther’s Vibranium Claws, War Machine’s Artillery, and reworks of Iron Man and Doctor Doom’s Gauntlets from Chapter 2 – Season 4.
Fortnite is also introducing duo wield machine guns, and the beloved “scar” assault rifle is rumored to make its return.
New Themed POIs
With a new season, comes new spots on the island to explore. Chapter 5 – Season 4 introduces 3 new POIs for players to land in and explore. Players will be able to explore The Raft, Doomstadt, and Castle Doom.
Fortnite Chapter 5 – Season 4 ‘Absolute Doom’ kicks off Friday August 16th 2024. Fortnite is available now, free to play, on PC through Epic Games and on all modern consoles.
